Coarse Bubble Diffusers

Coarse Bubble Diffusers are a wastewater and water treatment processing device used to infuse the water with air and/or oxygen. Producing 1/4″ to 1/2″ bubbles that rise rapidly from the floor of a wastewater treatment plant or sewage treatment facility. Air diffusers need to supply sufficient air bubbles and provide quality performance over time. Additional considerations would be to ensure that air release openings do not clog and the diffusers’ caps do not blow-off.

AIR FLOW RATE. When comparing aeration diffusers, the ultimate goal is to achieve the desired level of mass oxygen transfer. Good aeration can be achieved through opening size and total number of air release openings.

DIFFUSER PLUGGING. A common problem encountered by wastewater and water treatment operating and maintenance staff is the “plugged aerator diffuser”. From sediment settling into the air release openings to calcium carbonate build-up, blockage can definitely impact aeration performance. Plugged diffusers will eventually require replacement, which involves treatment processing downtime, as well as maintenance labor costs.

CAP BLOW-OFF…
Many wastewater operators are very familiar with aerator diffuser failures caused by diffuser caps becoming brittle or loose and then being blown off their base. From an engineering perspective, we designed the Flexcap with “fingers” that will actually grip its diffuser base more firmly should the diffuser cap become less flexible. Just one more feature that extends the life of our Flexcap coarse bubble diffusers.

Flexcap Diffusers

Air Release Holes. Most coarse bubble diffusers have up to 10 or 12 air release holes. The Flexcap Diffuser has 16 Air Release Openings – providing superior aeration and diffusion performance in a more energy-efficient solution. The greater number of air release openings allows each Flexcap diffuser to handle TWICE the volume of air per diffuser than the competitors’ diffusers.
